This committee was created to serve the following roles: 

• handle any issues related to professionalism of the resident and determine the appropriate action
• Assist a resident in correcting identified performance deficiencies through remediation
• Implementation of probation, in the event of unsuccessful remediation period
• Make the decision of dismissal from the program with the appeal committee, if the resident failed probation
